I agree with your analysis, the problem is Iran’s endgame is to continue with a lot of horrible behavior.
Then, as with a child, when they cross a boundary they are “helped” back across it.
Iran cannot take us on. They know they would be crushed in an afternoon. But some folks (not you) are bloodthirsty and filled with revenge as if they are from the region.
