Some of them certainly feel that way. But, when tens of thousands trample all over each other to touch a bloody coffin, I have to wonder whether there's more crazies who support a continuing messianic theocratic government, or a greater number of more or less normal folk who would like the regime to fall.
For me, figuring out which is the case is tough. Not enough info. It's like trying to estimate the election sentiment of the US by following polls.
