US Defense Secretary Mark Esper responded on Monday to reports that the US-led coalition to combat the Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist organization has decided to withdraw from Iraq.

"There has been no decision to leave Iraq. Period," he said.

Earlier it was reported that the commander of Task Force Iraq had written a letter to the Iraqis informing them of the decision to withdraw.

The authenticity of the letter, which was addressed to the Iraqi defence ministry's Combined Joint Operations Baghdad, was confirmed to Reuters independently by an Iraqi military source.

As it stands now, the resolution IS NON-BINDING.

1) It was voted on by a half-empty parliament with no participation from Sunnis and Kurds.

2) The Prime Minister had not signed it.

I stand corrected.

If its release was not intentional, someone needs to get a ear-burning chewing out for it. If was intentional to goad the Iraqi government into action, then it makes sense. Soleimani's upcoming terror campaign would have gotten several times as many more Iraqis killed than Americans.
