Germany has offered to mediate between all parties following the killing of Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani in a U.S. airstrike in Iraq last week.
Mediate what exactly? Iran's unconditional surrender?

Not really. This crisis is a great opportunity for EU to emerge as a global power.

I have an idea . . . lob a missile on top of Merkel. . . maybe Macron, too. That would solve lots of problems.

No thanks. They’ve been bucking for that for decades; their brand of socialism is not wanted nor needed.

That’s cute, two old commies meeting just like the good old days.
To: Olog-hai
Not really. EU is heavily outclassed by everyone else diplomatically. And that is mostly because they don’t really try. With widespread rejection of all things American they might capitalize on it. Although most likely they’d fail.

If Russia and Germany can work together does that mean we dont need NATO anymore ?
To: NorseViking
What “widespread rejection of all things American”? That’s an illusion fomented by the left-wing press not only on the American continent but also (and especially) the European.
