I was wondering that as well. I've known Sailors in the Navy who couldn't get security clearances to work certain rates because their parents were foreign nationals. And these were enlisted. I assumed commissioned officers had to be fully clearable?
He was born here. When he registered, they probably knew nothing about her....why would they??
