what was first reported as a rocket attack on the airport may have actually been a US strike o a "high value" Iranian target

Iraq says Katyusha rockets were fired at Baghdad International Airport, killing four people. It wasn't yet clear who fired the rockets or who was targeted. Tensions are high after Iran-backed militias attacked the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad on New Year's Eve.

Yeah, Iraq trying to keep everyone happy with them.
IMO those were Hellfire missiles.
Be interesting when Iraq’s parliament votes on whether to kick US out. Vote on that is supposed to be soon.
