If he is so frail he might want to consider avoiding huge crowds of worshipping, adoring sycophants in the future.
If you think about it, he was trying to give the pilgrims (whatever) a chance to be personal with him. This person thanked him by accosting him.
At 83 people are not as agile as younger people are. People don’t know what ailments the Pope has. He could have back problems or a bad shoulder, perhaps something else.
Not trying to be picky with you, but even younger people can have health problems someone might not be aware of.
It’s always advisable to keep our hands off others.
Jesus got pretty hostile with the money changers at the temple. He overturned tables, and I would suspect there was a some physical contact between some of the tables and the people manning them. I can’t say that for certain, but there is reason to believe that righteous indignation can be acceptable.
I do not condone his language. I think that’s the part where he really blew it.
We all seem to agree that choosing this guy was a huge mistake. Sadly the church is stuck with him for a while longer.
