Democrat Nancy Pelosi’s delay in transmitting the articles of impeachment to the Senate “puts politics ahead of the US Constitution,” declares Peter Roff at Newsweek.

Pelosi claims she wants to be assured the Senate will hold a “fair” trial, yet that’s the height of political hypocrisy, given that the House’s impeachment process was so “manifestly unfair.”

Besides, “if Harvard’s Noah Feldman is right and the president is not deemed to have been impeached until the articles are forwarded,” why should the Senate prepare for a trial? Pelosi just wants “another bite of the apple.”

Democrats have been trying to impeach President Trump for “most of his administration,” and there’s word they may now try to impeach him a second time.

Just as Bill Clinton gave us “the permanent campaign,” Pelosi and her allies are giving America “the permanent impeachment.”

“Will it ever end?” asks Roff. “Probably not.”

The first post I've read on Pelosi's claim the she wants to be assured that before she will transmit the House articles of impeachment to the Senate, that the Senate trial will be fair, by you pointing out that the "fair" part applies to Trump, not her, the House and the democRATS.

While Pelosi hopes to get lots of free oppo research via document release from the pending court cases, she is trying to run out the clock, while people turn against her and the Democrats.

IMHO the “permanent” impeachment scenario will not prove useful. Trump’s approval keeps going up.
