Back in my day in elementary school we had a 3rd grade teacher with a wooden yardstick, and she’s use it. We all knew it and the class would get pretty quiet pretty fast when she picked it up.
So you had Mrs. Yaples too.
My elementary school teacher had a yardstick and she broke it on one kid. That was when yardsticks were much more durable than they are now.
