In a stunning takedown of MSNBC host Rachel Maddow, Washington Post media critic Erik Wemple wrote Thursday that the liberal cable news star rooted for British ex-spy Christopher Steeles dossier, which served as the basis for Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrants against Trump campaign official Carter Page, to be the smoking gun that would force the president out of office.
In an op-ed titled, Rachel Maddow rooted for the Steele dossier to be true. Then it fell apart, Wemple wrote, She seemed to be rooting for the document. He added, As part of her Russianist phase, Maddow became a clearinghouse for news increments regarding the dossier.
Wemples piece was part of a serialized post-mortem on the medias handling of the Steele dossier, since thoroughly debunked by Justice Department Inspector General Michael E. Horowitz.
....
When small bits of news arose in favor of the dossier, the franchise MSNBC host pumped air into them, Wemple wrote in Thursdays op-ed. At least some of her many fans surely came away from her broadcasts thinking the dossier was a serious piece of investigative research, not the flimflam, quick-twitch game of telephone outlined in the Horowitz report.
Wemple continued, When large bits of news arose against the dossier, Maddow found other topics more compelling. He added, She was there for the bunkings, absent for the debunkings a pattern of misleading and dishonest asymmetry.

MAybe the Wapo should have warned journalists of not sacrificing their integrity to support that loser figure head OBama at all costs. Had they sacrificed Obama instead for sake of their organizations, maybe they would still be having a leg up in the soul of the American people, but instead they destroyed the whole business for a piece of crap privileged liberal brat who no longer served the needy but racial politics so as to avoid getting himself taxed of his own wealth.
Crocodile tears, the last resorted tool of negotiation to keep her seat and the audience of a loser.
Why do people keep watching her? Cannot stand this feminine crowd adulating this kind of emotional nonsense for all their pennies worth.
Stunned, shocked, seriously.... that the WAPO would admit this.
How can anyone blame her? She was just taking orders like all the rest of them.
and much reeeeeing ensued...
I remember Maddow crying after Mueller flopped, but can’t find the clip on youtube.
This is good, but what right does WaPo have to cast editorial judgement on another networks anchor? By what jurisdiction does WaPo assume the authority to criticize MSNBC?
The first amendment of the constitution?
Weird question. Maddow deserves very harsh criticism.
By what jurisdiction does WaPo assume the authority to criticize MSNBC?
WaPo printed the editorial, but that does not mean they agree with it.
Does she have her own pee pee video?
One rumor should be as good as another.
What was that picture of? She’s clearly crying about something but what?
Liberal tribe beat down of one another
It happens
Yeah, the Author is Eric Wimpel. Tucker Carlson gives mugs with his picture as prizes on the Final Exam game.
Probably “children separated from parents.”
