Trump is also the first politically impeached president. It seems a bit ironic, but the House has somehow turned Trump into a sympathetic figure. Americans may loath political rivals, but a significant majority still abide by deeply ingrained feelings about fairness. No one enjoys images of abuses of "police power" to railroad someone without factual evidence - as we have all seen here on full display.

Try this mind experiment: As much as patriots despise Hussein, what would have been the reaction if they found out the right has abused intelligence resources to spy on him before he was elected? Even worse, that a republican president & his minions had utilized the Patriot act - in ways so many warned about - to create a counter intelligence operation similar to the color revolutions used overseas to overthrow lawful government?

What the left is so far beyond the pale that it's amazing they willingly marched themselves over the cliff. This is why Trump will eventually creep up to 55% or so across the board, spelling electoral doom in 2020.
