A House Democrat impeachment expert just wrote an opinion article stating that impeachment is a process not a vote and that Trump could legitimately say he wasnt impeached at all because impeachment is seen through the lenses of the constitution as a whole -impeached in the House and then sent to the Senate for the trial. You cant have one without the other
He was formally impeached when the House managers impeached him in the Senate.
Clinton was acquitted because Democrats wanted him acquitted.
Thank you
Wrong. Until the formal documents presenting the articles are given to the Senate, no impeachment exists. Vote or no vote...irrelevant.
To use a simple example, you don't own your car until a signed contract changes hands, no matter how many handshakes took place.
Breitbart
House Democrats voted to impeach President Donald Trump Wednesday, making Trump the third president in American history to be impeached by the House of Representatives.
Absolutely true. I thought the same thing and hoped Trump would shout loudly that he isNOT impeached until the articles are filed, period.
Why your sick desire/frisson for the impeachment tag?
I think we need to change the semantics. Instead of saying “I hate this”, we could say “I impeach this”. Or instead of saying “I have a disagreement”, we could say “I have an impeachment”. If I impeach my alarm clock in the morning, it’s not because I destroyed it. It’s because I don’t like what it does.
I want to see the Skank Pelousy drag this out till the next house if voted in the next election.
A new house means the articles are null and void if they are not sent to the senate.
Just make GD sure the gop wins the majority then.
A new congress is not bound by prior congresses.
“That constitutes impeachment, the passing of the articles.”
For what it’s worth here’s dictionary.com’s definition, which indicates that an impeachment is an accusation:
1. to accuse (a public official) before an appropriate tribunal of misconduct in office.
2. Chiefly Law. to challenge the credibility of: to impeach a witness.
3. to bring an accusation against.
4. to call in question; cast an imputation upon: to impeach a person’s motives.
5. to call to account.

As I understand it; impeachment in the House is the same as when a prosecutor 'indicts' someone in front of Grand Jury which they say is pretty much always approved. In this case the House is supposed to present solid evidence of wrongdoing; either a crime or something so abhorent to congress and the people that it then moves to the Senate. Obviously that didn't happen in this case. No wrongdoing was found at all. Just things the radical dems don't like like banning transgenders in the military; a good and prudent call.
Then the person is arraigned and a trial date is set which would be like the Senate deciding on how or if this will go forward with impeachment (a trial). Then the judge, prosecutor, and of course, the defendant will decide on a trial, a plea agreement, and/or pleads guilty or not guilty. The Senate may call for a vote on whether to proceed or dismiss the charges as unfounded which of course is what is happening here.
If it moves forward then evidence is presented and the defendant, President Trump's defense team, is then free to call witnesses to disprove the House's charges which in this case would be as easy as buttering toast.
What I would really like to see is the 229 representatives who voted for impeachment without any facts, proof, or grounds; to be censured permanently. None of them are fit to hold office but since they can't be fired; they can be neutered and spayed.
I would like them all to undergo drug testing.
From Wikipedia:
Impeachment is the process by which a legislative body levels charges against a government official. Impeachment does not in itself remove the official definitively from office; it is similar to an indictment in criminal law, and thus it is essentially the statement of charges against the official. Whereas in some countries the individual is provisionally removed, in others they can remain in office during the trial.
Once an individual is impeached, they must then face the possibility of conviction on the charges by a legislative vote, which is separate from the impeachment, but flows from it, and a judgment which convicts the official on the articles of impeachment entails the officials definitive removal from office.
Id like to see Democrats undergo psychological testing.
sorry, that was to olesigh
Did the vote get over to the Senate?
You may want to read the history.
What
About a sealed indictment
Let’s muddy the waters more!
