He’s not a Republican. He needs to stay a Rat and try to reform the Rats from within.
No need to water down the GOP to accomodate this guy. Nobody trusts a turncoat, anyway.

Calling him either party is spin on a technicality. Just take the vote against and leave it at that.

Yes, it’s more of a humiliation if he stays a Rat.

I would not be surprised if the GOP spoke to him and requested that he take this action. We don’t need a bipartisan effort here. It would be a poor choice for him to do that just as he joins out side. That’s burning the bridge before you cross the bridge.

The Republican frontrunner opposing him in 2020 is an anti-Trump pr!ck, so who gives a sh!t which party Van Drew is affiliated with?
On the biggest vote of his brief tenure in office, he's on the right side.

He stays a rat he is in her power, she can get even with him. He leaves, she cant touch him. In the meantime he is an example of how Pelosi is losing her grip.

yep.
ask jumpin jim jeffords.
how’d that work out for ya?
they will start calling this dude “Jummpin jeff”
To: ClearCase_guy
He probably got a few concessions from the GOP before he made this move, and this was one they got from him.
The first concession he got is that Trump will endorse him against a strong primary challenge from an anti-Trump "Republican" who was the GOP frontrunner in 2020 to challenge Van Drew.

Then it's up to the Republicans to get rid of his sorry ass. This is New Jersey we're talking about here. I wouldn't rely on the Republicans in this state to call the fire department if their own homes were burning to the ground.

It makes the NO vote bipartisan.
Good
To: be-baw
There may be only one other— Colin Peterson of Minnesota’s 7th district. He loves being for the Democrats what John McCain was for the Republicans.

Van Drew is actually our Congressman. I believe Republicans should accept him into the fold, and let us, his constituents, work to bring him around. If he doesn’t, we’ll vote him out.
To: Vigilanteman
Drew and Peterson will be the only Democrat no votes on impeachment tonight, which will make opposition to it officially bipartisan.
The same cannot be said for the other side.
