Also, since the time span used to come up with the 423 million firearms only began at 1986, the figure is almost certainly on the low end. For instance, my 1930’s era Mosin-Nagant is not included in that figure.

For instance, my 1930s era Mosin-Nagant is not included in that figure. Mosin-Nagint 1891/30 from the Tula armory in 1938. The original iron sights are extremely accurate to 500 meters. Someday I hope to test the ladder sight at its maximum of 2000 meters.
Simpler and more reliable than even an AK. It is the oldest battle rifle still in continuous use.

It probably is in that figure, as an import. What they arent counting here is pre-86 guns, which have to number about 200-250 million.

Speaking of the Mosin-Nagant...a local firearms dealer has quite a few in stock with prices ranging from $200-$400.
I’ve been thinking of picking one up. Any suggestions or advice?
