Cool Meghan. The IG report says differently.
My impression of the IG report:
Some people talked about how much they hated the victims, talked about killing the victim, they bought a gun, they bought it illegally, then bought ammo, talked more about killing the victim, then pulled the trigger and shot numerous other people killing them but only wounded the victim, BUUUUUUT
Its all cool, they had the best of intentions, they only mildly hated the intended victim, the other people shouldnt have gotten in the way, the gun would have just gone off anyway and besides the victim would have died anyway.
After I did a quick read of the IG Report something hit me. The 17 instances of mistakes/errors was NOT the total number of mistakes/errors made.
Remember the entire report was extensively reviewed by FIB leadership and then plea bargained.
That number represents the number of “no contest’ pleas by the FBI and its leadership that was accepted by the IG.
I must wonder what othrr issues were “lost” in this “review” process. Unfortunaetly that is something we will never know.
As a SF Sgt told me over 50 years ago: “By the time you start worrying about your creditability, don’t waist your time. You haven’t had any for years. Worse it will be years before you regain a small part of what you have lost!”
Excellent analogy.
