President Trump was asking President Zelensky to investigate someone who was breaking the laws of both the USA and Ukraine where those laws were broken, in Ukraine, the only place they could be investigated, regardless of whether Joe Biden might eventually be selected from a field of almost 100 Democrats who had filed as presidential candidates. Only the Ukrainians could investigate Hunter Bidens involvement with and hiring by Burisma Holdings in Ukraine.
We cant send FBI agents to Ukraine to turn over rocks looking for slugs, and compel testimony from corrupt Ukraine citizens, therefore the only method we have is to request the investigation from the Ukraine government. It is entirely appropriate to request that investigation from them, and for our president to ask their president. It is also appropriate to find out BEFORE we are presented with the possibility of having a corrupt candidate running as the Presidential candidate for a major party. That is not interfering in the election, but rather properly vetting the potential candidate.
Would this be a problem if President Trump were in his second term and not running for reelection? It would not. . . because it is conditional on his running. That makes it absurd.
It is pure speculation as to which one of those 100, or the top 20, or top ten, of five, might actually become the presumptive candidate. It is entirely likely that Biden will not be the actual Democrat candidate for president in 2020 given his foot-in-mouth disease, his predilection for fondling little school girls, and in this day of #metoo his need to sniff the hair of every woman he gets with in groping range. Im surprised hes survived to now.
They are impeaching for "obstruction of justice," because President Trump went to the courts for protection of his rights, and "obstruction of Congress" because he asserted executive privilege.
