Trump cancelled the Chicago rally after a mob of Democrat agitators started to get violent. O’Malley was flapping his is gums in a bar. Cuccinelli should have pulled out his phone, started recording and asked the dirtbag to repeat what he said.

".... Why didnt he stand up to him in the pub, instead of running away like a typical Republican coward?....Wrong answer.
Cuccinelli is a department secretary in the current administration. He conducted himself with dignity. Let O'Malley sink himself instead of dragging Cuccinelli down with him.
O'Malley is a weak, wimpy former governor and former democRAT candidate for president. He was probably drunk and behaving ugly and immaturely on his own accord. Cuccinelli didn't need to engage.
Best for the partisan media to report that O'Malley's behavior was out of line than to report that the two got into a heated argument.
Cuccinelli is the professional here and took the high road to avoid the drama. Nothing to gain by confronting him. O'Malley was already digging his hole pretty deep.

An acting Deputy secretary in ANY administration taking the bait of a likely intoxicated loud mouth from the opposing party is not only not advisable, its imbecilic. <<__

I was going to say that O’Malley may have 1/8 of a thimble full of class. He doesn’t even have a smell of class!

They may ignore O'Malley's behavior but they wouldn't have ignored a heated argument between Cuccinelli and O'Malley.
Cuccinelli would have lost that battle no matter what happened.
He did the right thing by not engaging a drunk in a bar.

I’ve wondered how many fencesitters jumped into the Trump camp after that outrageous night.

there would have been immediate calls for him to resign
This very significant point seems to be being overlooked. The left rabidly opposed Cuccinelli being appointed to any position and it wouldn't surprise me at all if O'Moron instigated this incident with that end as the goal.
As much as I would have liked to see him stand his ground, in this situation, discretion was the best option hands down.

Even Navy Seals are trained to get away and not engage in such situations. It’s not always wise to wade into a bar fight.

Cooch is an acting deputy director of a US intelligence agency. When he goes out in public anywhere he should have security people accompany him. If this were the case in this DC bar, said security personnel should have put the nasty little Irish twat on his ass on the beer soaked floor, duct taped his mouth shut, flex-cuffed him and hauled him into custody. Of course a case could be made for replacing the deputy director with someone with a set of real balls.
