Officials say 42 people were charged with disorderly conduct after a protest interrupted a Saturday football game between archrivals Harvard and Yale.
Students and alumni from both schools occupied the midfield of the Yale Bowl during Saturdays halftime protest. Some held banners urging their colleges to act on climate change. Other signs referred to Puerto Rican debt relief and Chinas treatment of Uighurs.
Most protesters walked off after about an hour; those who remained were charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct. They were issued a court summons and released, according to a statement from Yale University.
Actor Sam Waterston was among those arrested, according to the Connecticut Post. The actor known for his roles in TVs Law & Order is a graduate of Yale.
Organizers of the protest had initially estimated that 20 to 30 protesters were arrested.

Stupidity on display at Ivy League.
“We, the Entitled, in order to form a more perfect union...”
They should have done that at an SEC game . . .
Once upon a time, in a country far far away, the Ivy League actually meant something.
Waterston’s carbon footprint is probably one hundred times that of the average Freeper.
These hypocrites are disgusting.
The sad part is most of these snowflakes parents agree with what they are doing.
Oh well, it’s their money.
More dollars than sense
Dick Wolfe ought to photoshop him out since it is now obvious that Waterston does NOT believe in either Law or Order
I want them to lose right to vote. No jail, but no voting. Much better for the country. I wish that was all punishment for everything except rape and murder. Itd be so much better for the country.
The Port Chester Whooping Cranes Strike!
Kooky Global Warmers ping!
Me too. I loved the show at the beginning in the 1990s. Later it became nothing but activism.
Sam Waterston?
Guess he felt he had to keep up with his “Grace and Frankie” co-star, Hanoi Jane.
“They should have done that at an SEC game . . .”
Hah!
“Most protesters walked off after about an hour;”
An HOUR?
These nutjobs were allowed to steal an hour from thousands of people?
Some Deep State puke in the National Park Service actually cast Waterston as the voice of Abraham Lincoln at the Gettysburg Museum.
“...who really gives a crap about Yale/Harvard football????
Graduates of those two schools...”
That’s about it...
The administration should act on climate change. Ban students from driving gas engine cars.
