Appearing on Friday’s CBS This Morning, legal analyst and constitutional law scholar Jonathan Turley completely shattered the hopes of Democrats and the liberal media that President Trump would be successfully impeached and removed from office. He trashed the proceedings for presenting “the thinnest evidentiary record” and declared the effort was “designed to fail.”
Replying to King and fellow co-host Anthony Mason skeptically asking, “why don’t they have a case?,” Turley dismantled the impeachment crusade point by point:
Whether this is intentional or not, it seems designed to fail in the Senate. I don’t think you could prove a removable offense of a president on this record even if the Democrats were in control. This thing is too narrow, it is – it doesn’t have a broad foundation, and it’s an undeveloped record. There are a lot of core witnesses that were not called. And the question is why? They said, “We want a vote by December. We want to vote before Santa.” Why? Why – why would you – why would you be pushing this instead of calling these critical witnesses?

Astounding that the pretty news people cannot see that the dem charges are made of cotton candy.
If the whistleblower colluding with Schiff would constitute fruit from the poisoned tree in any real court of law and thus everything that was learned from it would not be allowed as evidence.
Their schedule was based on getting Trump out right as the primary season started, with chaos brewing, and the GOP unable to mount any decent primary vote period....thus giving a 3rd-rate candidate to run against the Democratic choice.
It’s about as stupid a strategy as the Hillary ‘pied-piper’ strategy idea.
In the end, it’s giving the Trump team hundreds of hours of video for campaign efforts, and a boost up to reach one billion dollars in campaign funds by the convention period. In simple terms, they sprayed JP4 jet fuel on a backyard bar-b-q, and set the Trump team on turbo.
The political question that needs to become both part of the 2020 Presidential campaign and all house seats is why, if they knew it would fail did Democrats drag the country though this? If they didn’t know, then they are too incompetent to run either the House of Representatives or the Presidency.

Turley really is one of them at heart, but he has a pretty wide streak of honesty that often makes his comments blow up right in their faces.

Oh they see. That’s what makes them guilty. Otherwise, they would just be innocent purveyors of the ‘news’. These people are all complicit. There is simply too much fake news for journalists to be considered honest. Assigning their fake news to simply some mistake is a bridge too far.
Today President Trump came out and basically dared the Dems to push this into a senate trial.
DJT knows the Rats are scared to death of Discovery and a senate trial would have tons of Discovery.
The Rats are screwed no matter what happens.
The simple answers are:
1. The HoR DIMocRATS are so out of touch with reality that they believed that they could get GOP members in considerable numbers to turn their backs on the POTUS.
(Had the GOP members have done that treachery, that would without question END their careers in the GOP. = WISHFUL THINKING for the DIMs!!)

2. The DIMocRATS REALLY are that INCOMPETENT & mostly STUPID, as well. AND they mostly believe their own FANTASIES.
(Schiff, sadly I must tell you, is one of the “medium SMART” of the DUMB-bunnies that are “the leaders” of the DP in 2019.)

But, why in the world would CBS Hosts be disappointed? Aren’t we supposed to want the President to succeed? I mean, Rush was excoriated by the media for saying he wanted the One to fail, but even Rush did not wish impeachment on him. Oh my. Whatever happened to “we’re not biased”?
