Note the use of the term “wrong” vs “illegal”. The US has a treaty (law of the land) with Ukraine that specificly allows for cooperation on investigations. That is legal and is a fact of law.
By using “wrong”, the left is allowing the interjection of moral judgement. If the law says you can drive 55, then it is not illegal. But it might still be “wrong” based on someones moral judgement - uses too much gas, bad for the environment, unsafe for the road conditions, etc.
Conversely, “illegal” denotes a crime. Driving 60 instead of 55 is a crime in the given example. Paying for legal goods and services is not bribery. In order for a bribe to take place, the action has to be illegal.
I am of the opinion that President Trump operated within the laws of our nation with regards to his conversation with Ukraine.
