too much movement. too many variables.
easier to corral\cement at least 34 than trying to stop 67

and it’s actually 2/3rds of those present.

History says the Senate made a choice to deny our efforts to oust a sitting president who actually lied on the witness stand in a court of law.

The perceptions of a trial are not always the same. In the case of Clinton, it was clear that he violated the law, and his impeachment was the proper course of action. The Senate trial revealed that the Democrats were more concerned with politics than truth.

In Trump's case, the Senate trial will reveal that the Democrats are still more interested in politics than truth and are willing to damage our institutions in order to express their anger.

Most of all, it's unfortunate that the president and the country have to endure the temper tantrums of a political party that has horrible ideas and policies and relies on bullying tactics to remain relevant and in power. We already have plenty of evidence of their moral bankruptcy, this is just one more example.

Yep. There’s more coming. The Deep State Midgets are up next. It’s going to be the smoking gun of this Circus fiasco. They will be testifying to lots of small crimes and misdemeanors that should add up to an impeachable offense by PDJT. SCHITT refers to them as Heroes of the Cause. ‘cause of their size they were able to hide under tables and desks and record nefarious conversations. SCHITT is particularly fond of them, often referring to them as “always the right height to “get the job” done.”

I think Trump now realizes that the so-called swamp is in actuality the entire USA (government, economy, culture & society) in all its glory. It may have seemed to him, you, me and 10s of millions others that restoration of a constitutional republic may have been manageable given appropriate support.

So, we have to ask the relevant question: why isn't there any (institutional) support? And the answer is apparently because it's bad for business. Our economy, our financial system, in fact, our very culture, society & way of life is dependent on the way the system is currently constructed.

That fact that Trump cannot have any of these spies and traitors summarily arrested & charged with treason in front of military tribunals should be a huge red flag to anyone paying attention. How come Trump cannot/will not call out the militia? Why not take direct action?

Maybe it's because the MIC could easily down AF1 with even one of their mildly advanced missile systems. The only twist would be how to properly camouflage/deflect the attack to paint it as enemy action.

I think after all of these years of the still ongoing coup, we need to take an honest assessment of the situation. If Trump's lack of retaliation doesn't make sense, then maybe the most rationale explanation is the obvious answer staring all of us in the face. He can't.

Well two dems voted against the impeachment inquiry and Van Drew was one of them. Got anymore to nerf a majority? If internal polling is extreme (From Congressional races) then enough dems could hit the brakes (Against Nancy's will, she left too much out there already).

Also, Van Drew left the "something we haven’t heard, something that rises to the level of treason or high crimes — that would be different." door open too.

The question is this the proverbial “Custer’s last stand”

... Or, hopefully, prayerfully… True Americans will rise up take the deep state by its hydra throat and beat it until it is dead!

..... Please God, don’t make “MAGA”... the charge of the light brigade.

I concur with everything you posted on this thread. Our entire bureaucracy/Departments are compromised and has been for decades/in some cases, almost 90 years.

I think that's a large part of it. The so-called "deep state" is, in actuality, 90% of the US governing apparatus which has grown to the point that it refuses to be controlled or commanded by a few hundred elected officials that it can normally destroy at will.

That is what we are faced with. If we thought we lived in a democratic republic--well, we don't really.

BTW, the press/media, including FOX’s “Allstars” or whatever their news/journalism drones are called, are trying to force this bullcrap down our throats. Some trying to ping for ratings, however, a several a probably true believers/have a grudge against Trump (One Judge who is a “legal” expert certainly does).
