Manu Raju @mkraju I obtained a copy of David Holmes' opening statement, saying that he heard Trump telling Gordon Sondland: "So, he's gonna do the investigation?" Sondland tells Trump: "He's gonna do it" and that Zelensky will do "anything you ask for."
Yeah because President Trump would talk to someone while in a restaurant LOL..what next, did he talk to someone in the potty too
Doesn’t pass the smell test. Without a speakerphone, at best you can usually only hear the buzz that someone is talking, not every word of what they are saying. Moreover, this conveniently only comes out at the very end of things, when Sondland has been in the news for weeks, and when all the other Dem ploys have fizzled. It’s his word against theirs.
social media is having a field day with the “HE LOVES YOUR ASS” bombshell....too funny. I love his ass too!!!...TRUMP 2020....
Oh how they lie.
If it couldn’t be refuted the Dems would not have to have leaked it to the media so it could make news for a week before the Rs could respond.
So, it can be refuted- it does not show what is assumed that it does.
This is the reason that Trump sent Guiliani...he trusts him.
Obviously bootleg opening statement: https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/6550845-2140-001.html#document/p1
NBC
Holmes testifies he overheard Trump ask Sondland about investigations
Holmes appeared before Congress Friday evening under subpoena, an official working on the inquiry said, in light of an attempt by the State Department to block or limit his testimony.
Rep. Ted Lieu, D-Calif., characterized Holmes’ account as “damning” after emerging from the deposition in the basement of the Capitol.
Holmes, counselor for political affairs at the U.S. embassy in Ukraine, told lawmakers Friday that there were four people present at the lunch including Sondland, according to Lieu.
Notice this so called revelation does not anywhere state what the President said. Hearing his voice is not the same thing. The statement only recounts what Sodding-land said regarding his opinion of what matters Trump found important. Which is speculation and not fact.
So, is it commonplace for you to eavesdrop on calls with the President? Is the question I would ask.
These people are acting like 12 year olds.
Correction. It does state the President was heard asking “So he’ll do the investigation?” But nowhere is a specific investigation mentioned. And we know it is totally legit for the President to ask that the “dropped investigation” be re-opened. So still nothing of substance here.
A source attending the closed hearing told CBS News that the deposition of Holmes was “very damning” for Sondland. The source said that Sondland will “either go to jail or have to turn on the president.”
Thanks. These people keep trying to spin cloth out of air.
The NBC report just said that Trump made reference to “investigations”, not to Biden specifically.
So the public hearing arent going very well and they go back in private where they can pull something else out of their asses...
Translation: “I had a very severe case of butt-hurt because the President did not run foreign policy how we at the State Department thought he should.”
I have yet to hear any republicans comment on the closed day testimony..(they did on the others right away)
closed day testimony.= closed door testimony
You sure post a LOT of CNN 'gotcha' articles.
So NBC says Rep. Ted Lieu, D-Calif., characterized Holmes’ account as “damning”
Isn’t it funny how all these Democrats come out of these closed door testimonies with the same “ account was damning”. Talk about political theater.
