Yes, Minister, was followed by Yes, Prime Minister, after the cabinet minister became Prime Minister. The civil service employee who had him wrapped around his finger ended up with a knighthood: Sir Humphrey Appleby, I think his name was. Excellent series.

The series in many ways is an education on why government is the way it is. The creators & writers for the show were very well versed in “public choice economics”.

Nobel Prize in economics winner (Late professor of economics at George Mason University - James M. Buchanan . I can’t remember if Tullock got a Nobel also!) below are their most famous work.

Every episode of the series has a “public choice” issue as part of the storyline.
