True. Like Al Franken in his Stuart Saves His Family movie, they sit in front of full length mirrors and say "I Like Myself" for hours before their TV cue to go on.
I think it’s more desperate than that. The more controversial they can be, the more shock and outrage they can elicit, the better chance they think they have of remaining ‘in business’. It’s all about ‘ratings’, and hanging on by their fingernails.
They’re actually pitiable creatures, when you think about it from that perspective.
