The top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee has formally requested that the panel's chairman, Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., testify in a closed-door setting as part of the impeachment inquiry against President Trump.
Fox News has obtained a letter written by committee Ranking Member Devin Nunes, R-Calif., who demanded that Schiff appear for a deposition in private before lawmakers.
"On November 6th, you announced the beginning of public hearings associated with the Democratic Party's partisan impeachment inquiry into President Donald J. Trump," Nunes wrote Friday. "Based on the precedent and lack of jurisdiction, the House Intelligence Committee should not take the lead in conducting such hearings; however, by now the American people know your desire to see the duly-elected president removed from office outweighs your sense of responsibility to running a functioning intelligence oversight committee.
"Prior to the start of your public show trial next week, at least one additional closed-door deposition must take place," he continued. "Specifically, I request that you sit for a closed-door deposition before the House Intelligence, Foreign Affairs and Oversight Committees."

Actually Shifty should be interviewed by the Justice department under oath for assisting in a coup as a potential accompliss. I understand a Prez can be impeached, but if the impeachment seems more like an orchestrated coup then Barr should get involved. Why is Barr not interviewing shifty?

Schiff can be charged with obstruction of justice, if he doesn’t agree to appear in front of the committee. And, he can be charged with contempt of congress if he doesn’t answer the questions.
The hell with ‘in private’. wtf?? Make him sit IN AN OPEN SESSION in front of the American people and testify. All this closed door crap is bullsh*t.
Even if he did, he could lie his scrawny butt off, even under oath, and there’s not a darn thing that could be done to him

Nunes is a good man. He went through hell investigating the investigators. He and his team saved our republic. He’s a hero. Great book too.
Shiff decides whether Shiff can be called as a witness.
I think Shiff will decide that Shiff doesn’t need to be called as a witness.
Why risk lying when a perp can just exonerate himself?

Come to think of it, there are ‘managers’ appointed for the House for the Removal trial in the Senate.
If Shiff was a manager I believe he might be questioned.
