(CNSNews.com) In a new report, the Center for Military Readiness says that 84% of women fail the New Army Combat Fitness Test and that all military officials should drop the gender diversity agenda and put mission readiness and combat lethality first.
It makes no sense for recruiters to devote more time and money recruiting gender diverse trainees who are more likely to be injured, less likely to want infantry assignments, and less likely to remain through basic training or physically-demanding combat arms assignments for twenty years or more, states the CMR report .
On the other side of the issue, the Department of Defense Women in Service Review says it conducted an extensive review of all laws and policies concerning women in the armed forces in 2011 and 2012, taking into consideration the outstanding performance of more than 280,000 women who deployed and served alongside men in Iraq and Afghanistan.
As a result, in 2016, after what the DOD describes as five years of extensive research, analysis, and scrutiny, the Department decided to eliminate restrictions on what positons women could hold in the military, opening 213,600 positons that had been closed to women and 52 closed military occupational specialties.
According to the Department of Defense , 16% of the overall active duty force is comprised of females, with 170,000 women enlisted and over 40,000 women officers.
[T]hese occupations, positions, and platforms will be available for the assignment of all men or women who meet the validated occupational standards, said the DOD report. Anyone, regardless of gender, who can meet operationally relevant standards, will have the opportunity to serve in any position.
The Center for Military Readiness argues against policy changes to allow women to serve in the infantry or in direct ground combat.
Pentagon leaders pushed for gender quotas of 25-30 percent of women and 10 percent in the Marine Corps, which the CMR says led to lowering the requirements with the implementation of the gender- neutral Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT).
In this ACFT, women have a high failure rate, states the CMR report. The final results will not be released until October 2020 but the report contends that the results will not change the inevitable: more female injuries, less-demanding training for men, and overall standards that are equal but lower than before.
Women are serving with courage as they always have, said the CMR. But in two major categories unequal physical capabilities and sexual misconduct signs of a failing social experiment are increasingly obvious.
Time to lower the standard
I thought the whole objection was that the overwhelming number of women couldnt meet the standards, and that even for those who could, it made little sense to alter the field accommodations for what would never be more than a handful of people.
Thank the Kenyan’s “mission accomplished”.
Yeah, the author of that article is virtue signaling.
However, I do agree with him that the equipment needed for this new test is ridiculous. Under the (old) APFT, you didn’t really need much equipment - just a stopwatch and a place to run 2 miles.
In the words of Clint Eastwood in the Enforcer as Dirty Harry: what do you think this is, some kind of encounter group.
“Kara Hultgreen died just months after she was certified for combat, when her F-14 Tomcat crashed into the sea on final approach to USS Abraham Lincoln, October 25, 1994.”
That might be the stuff that happens when you certify a pilot based on political agenda instead of skill.
A pity Patsy Schroeder wasn’t riding in the 2nd seat. I wonder who was when Hultgreen flew her plane into the Pacific.
“There are no women in Israeli combat units”
That’s not longer true. Women currently make up 3% of the IDF’s combat soldiers. It remains to be seen how that will work out for them.

‘Im pretty sure that putting women in combat zones started with Slick Willy. Clinton and Bush Jr got around any prohibitions against it by playing word games.’
you are right; though Obama was in full agreement with it...on one hand, I can see that when it comes to the everyday business of a functional military, men would like to have the company of women, as in workplaces and colleges; on the other hand, if placing the childbearing segment of the populace into armed conflict were a good idea, it would have been done so already, long ago...
That’s a very good article, FRiend. Thanks again.

They're kicking the real women's asses in sports now, so why not in the military?
These transgendered men can even use the women's bathrooms. No problem.
Does this all sound stupid? Of course it does.
It is stupid.
Happy Veterans Day, old man. :)
Heh. I was 31 when graduating 13 weeks of 12B one-station unit training at Ft. Leonard Wood. National Guard and never mobilized but pretty proud of that little accomplishment anyway.
...the backseater - not sure what the Navy calls them - punched out a millisecond before Kara did and survived the ejection; Kara was ejected straight into the water and apparently died insantly...Kara’s call sign was Revlon, if I recall...there are several articles about this sad story on the ‘net... .from what you can glean from these articles, one gets the impression that she was a substandard pilot who should never have gotten through Navy flight school...
‘All that, and the warm welcome waiting for us when we got home.’
all veterans have my eternal admiration and gratitude, for what very little that may be worth...
Women vets represent a much greater proportion of the VA mental health services than men. I’ve seen them claim PTSD from sexual harassment. And they get the disability too.
Old information from wiki.
My Dad was an Engie at Normandy and had more shrapnel scars than you could count from demolition work.
Salute ..
No, it isn’t.
“A record breaking 1,000 women drafted into combat positions this summer”
This is from January of this year:
If you have information that says the IDF has no women in combat roles, let’s see it.
Many of our specialties designated as “combat” aren’t really battle focused, and many soldiers in such specialties would be with infantry units, technically, but in main battle areas (today’s rear). There are many paradoxes and contradictions in terminology. Today, from some of the terminology and schools (e.g., airborne), a woman can look like a rough, tough soldier, word wise. She can incur quite a bit of physical and psychological damage from social interactions, too.
Our military forces are a bloated, sick mess compared to what they could be under leaders like those of the early 1950s and before.
While searching on this subject I found an article suggesting exactly that.
