LOUISVILLE, Ky.
Republican Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin's campaign requested a recanvass of vote totals that show him losing his reelection bid.
His campaign sent a statement Wednesday afternoon saying it is doing so due to the close nature of the gubernatorial race and multiple reports of voting irregularities. The people of Kentucky deserve a fair and honest election. With reports of irregularities, we are exercising the right to ensure that every lawful vote was counted," Bevin said in a news release.
In a 5 p.m. news conference on Wednesday, Bevin expanded on the irregularities.

sounds to me like you need a Calgon bath!
When I was a kid in Chicago in the 60’s everybody knew the dead voted!!
Live now in People’s Republic of Maryland. I’ve been asking at Republican meetings about what are we doing to protect the vote from fraud. I get deer in the headlight stares. Lordy.
Very likely that enough felon votes, maybe from just confusion, may have made the difference.
Hope he is sent enough legal help from the Party to do a good job of checking the recanvas!
I am familiar with Maryland. Right now the governor is a Republican (sort of), but the Dems own the state house and he’ll almost certainly be replaced by a wild eyed Dem.
Maryland is a lost cause in my humble opinion.
Yeah I just saw that on twitter.
Whistleblower attorney threatening the President of The United States.
Ping me to the proper thread please, TIA
Maryland's been a lost cause for a good thirty years.
This commie Kentucky governor candidate said that the voters spoke loud and clear. Really? With only 4,000 votes separating out of a million and a half? If he officially wins he better not push a hard left agenda. Kentucky at least has a chance. Here in Mexifornia the Repugnicans sometimes don’t even run a candidate. Lame.
One way to eliminate the fraudulent component, and get a lot closer to the legitimate result would be to shave 33 percent off the democrat total.
Even if there is provable vote fraud, we need a GOP with a spine to insist on prosecuting it and not accept the result of a compromised election. Even if Bevin wants this, it wont go anywhere without a supportive GOP, and therefore Im not very hopeful.
He cites “irregularities” without citing a specific example.
He reminds me of a democrat...and sore loser.
Impossible without fraudulent engineering, that is.
One of the WORST election practices going is to have voting precincts report their results in real time, publicly, as these counts come available. That only lets the losing side know how many votes they need to just squeak ahead. All official counts should be reported either simultaneously, or sent to a secure custodian who releases the results of the entire race all at once. That is the ONLY way to squash the temptation to fraud.
FWIW....

I think they just didnt vote for Gov. Bevin did himself in.
You are so right.
Been active in Maryland politics for almost 30 years and it has a been a lost cause since I got here.
Worked with Michael Steele when he became chair of the Prince Georges County Republican Party Central Committee. Loved him back then. He changed big time.
Later dealed with the Governor of Maryland, Ehrilch. What a jaw dropping idiot.
Hogan’s no different. He’s a Rat who got labeled different.
A state-wide recount where the loser eventually won happened not too long ago in Minnesota. That was when Al Franken eventually discovered enough ballots to overturn the initial results showing that he lost.
I’m not sure if this can be repeated this time.
Particulars in the article:
“He said thousands of absentee ballots were wrongly counted, people were turned away from polling sites and ballots were placed into boxes instead of ballot machines in Jefferson County. “
then there’s the tweet that somebody ‘shredded’ rep ballots? wonder when trash pickup day is?
PRAYING!!!
