We have truly let a country full of idiot voters vote for idiot democrats who don’t know the law or rules and make things up as they go. That is why we are a Republic and not a democracy. This mob of morons supported by the idiots in the media being paid for by the global cabal of companies that own the media think they can fool most Americans. The democrats will soon be a minority for the next century.

Well all righty then. I guess if the Constitution is no longer in effect then any actions done by the federal government from that point on are invalid. Why should any person feel any obligation to follow laws coming out of Washington? The contract is voided, so to speak. I suspect most folks will just muddle through at first. However, when the iron fist of a scorned government comes down our true character will emerge. Will it be as slaves or freemen? The left will go nuts and way over step in their desire to punish the deplorables. The outcome is unknowable.

So the Democrats and the AP seem to be confusing impeachment with the parliamentary vote of no confidence. Unlike the vote of no confidence, impeachment requires "high crimes and misdemeanors." This means committing a crime or intentionally violating the Constitution.

If impeachment requires only that the House doesn't like the President, then the President would become a puppet of the Congress. The President was meant to be an independent of Congress. The Democrats impeachment effort isn't just an attack on President Trump, it's an attack on the presidency.

In this case it does take a crime to impeach the President.

And that crime is being committed by Adam Schiff.

Sooner later, Schiff will be interviewed by Deputy AG Durham.

The big advantage to a parliamentary system is that minority parties have more power and parties are less entrenched over time.
But I am unaware of any parliamentary systems that have a strong mechanism to protect individuals rights and stem majoritarian tyranny.

Charging that trump has unpresidential hair is sufficient to impeach. Just repeating that he has committedd High Crimes and Misdemeanors without specifying anything is sufficient.

All that’s needed to Impeach the President boils down to what Rep. Al Green said. “ I we don’t Impeach him now,we will lose in 2020.”
That’s it.

Article II Section 4 The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.

This seems pretty clear to me. What part of HIGH CRIMES do you still not understand.

‘So a president can’t be impeached solely on the basis of dislike?’

look up the impeachment of Andrew Johnson in 1866, then answer your own question...

The standard is high crimes and misdemeanors. So the House can send over to the Senate that he ate a Philly Cheese with a fork. Then there is a trial reffed by John Roberts and the Senate decides on his ouster.

While it’s got some failsafe in it, the impeachment can succeed, with the proper number of corrupt pols.

‘While it’s got some failsafe in it, the impeachment can succeed, with the proper number of corrupt pols.’

there has never been a removal of a president based on impeachment by the lower chamber...Johnson, in 1866, was acquitted on his principle charge, a ridiculous complaint about removing Stanton from the War department while Congress was not in session, and the Senate basically folded the tent after that...IMHO, short of a capital crime being committed, a sitting president will never be removed simply by virtue of a partisan Congress...

Thats the message they want to send. If you aren’t “them” ( commie corrupt democrat), then don’t even bother to run because they will take you out for no reason at all. They are telling us we dont live in a republic any more, we live in totalitarian dictatorship and we should just give up. They have no idea what they are unleashing.

As someone said above, they are killing 200 years of tradition of peaceful transfer of power, and if they kill the constitution then no one else is bound by it either. They are so incredibly evil.

The Dems have gone full Soviet.

Yes. Combine Marxist economics with a KGB style police state and that’s exactly what they have become.

Sorry to hear that!

However, unless those who were the witnesses against you were kept hidden, you weren't allowed to have a lawyer, and you were hauled out of your home and thrown into jail for NO reason and never told what your "crime" was...and much worse, you should read or see THE TRIAL. Anthony Perkins stars in it and is terrific in the part of K.

And THIS really IS whar the damned SWAMP and all of the DEMs in Congress, as well as the media have been doing to Trump, all members of his family, and just about everyone who ever knew him, practically since he threw his hat into the GOP presidential Primary ring...all those years ago now.

And look at what they've done to Kavanaugh...TWICE!

How about what they've done to Roger Stone, et al!

The book, THE TRIAL was published well over 100 years ago...when America wasn't nearly as corrupt and lawless and it takes place in Europe; however, sadly it does fit what has been going on, here, now.
