Actually I am hoping this is a bait and switch.

Instead of talking about the death of a terrorist he would outline the charges against the coup conspirators... but then I am a optimist at heart.

Agreed.
The pre-written stories would all be “fake” news.

I know a lot of people are estatic when their favorite team wins, and we can applaud the feat technically. But can anyone here tell me how this really makes a difference?

Does this mean we have our rights (surveillance, financial transactions, secret courts) restored, you know those that were taken away during the Patriot Act becuse of the terror threat? Does that mean that we can bring more troops home, reduce military spending, shrink the government so that I can pay less in taxes?

Like you, I was hoping that there would be news on a much more important front in my view; taking down the coup conspirators. It’s the federal government itself that’s a bigger threat to individual liberty that any terrorist will ever be.

When the government fears the people there is liberty, when the people fear the government there is tyranny. Sorry to say, but this did nothing to change that balance of power.
