The Seattle Public Schools Ethnic Studies Advisory Committee (ESAC) released a rough draft of notes for its Math Ethnic Studies framework in late September, which attempts to connects math to a history of oppression.
The framework is broken into four different themes: Origins, Identity, and Agency, Power and Oppression, History of Resistance and Liberation, and Reflection and Action.
The committee suggests that math is subjective and racist, saying under one section, Who gets to say if an answer is right, and under another, how is math manipulated to allow inequality and oppression to persist?
Jason Rantz of KTTH in Seattle noted that, ESAC is made up of a number of educators and was created due to a legislature mandate to advise, assist, and make recommendations to the office of the superintendent of public instruction regarding the identification of ethnic studies materials.'
It is also stated in the document that Western mathematics is used to disenfranchise people and communities of color.

Be my guest. Include all the other benefits of Western Civilization while you’re at it.
All you need to do is go into any advanced university math/engineering class and look around. You’re going to see ethnic/POC diversity everywhere.

The actual high school math curriculum addressees the usual algebra, geometry, calculus and statistics.

Guessing that wackos like this teach that 1 + 1 = anything you want it to be, and that there is no right answer. That will significantly improve minority test scores.

The mere fact there is something called an “ethnic studies advisory committee” is sheer lunacy. Further, they simply aren’t doing “ethnic” students a bit of good. Con artists, quacks, and charlatans. Very sad what has been done to our education system. As AG Barr pointed out, this isn’t decay, it is active sabotage.

As an Engineer I never knew there was “Western” mathematics. Guess I went to a bad school? I was always taught that math was a universal language, silly me.
This afternoon I’ll rework all my budgets using “Eastern” mathematics, maybe my profit margins will improve? Hell, I might even speak with our accountants, perhaps they can change the generally accepted forms of accounting. I might end up being a millionaire by the end of the day?
Math is racist. White men built it.
They need to deal with it.
Or—go back to living in caves trying to create fire with sticks.
