Princeton Theological Seminary will set aside more than $25 million to pay reparations for its historical ties to slavery, thrusting the seminary to the forefront of a national debate over how Americas should reconcile with its slave-owning past.
Calling the payments an act of repentance, President M. Craig Barnes said in a statement Friday the seminary is committed to telling the truth," even though the seminary itself never owned slaves.
Founded in 1812, the seminary benefited from the slave economy through investments in Southern banks and from donors who profited from slavery. Its founding faculty and leaders used slave labor during their lifetime and some advocated for sending free black men and women to Liberia, according the seminary.
The Seminarys ties to slavery are a part of our story," Barnes said. "It is important to acknowledge that our founders were entangled with slavery and could not envision a fully integrated society... We did not want to shy away from the uncomfortable part of our history and the difficult conversations that revealing the truth would produce.

Yeah. I had kin folk who fought for the north so I should probably get some compensation for lending a hand. Even though it was slightly ahead of when I was alive but hey..... A cool million should suffice.
Reparations pie sliced this way:
First money should go to a phony black guy as in the movie Soul Man (1986).
Next to slave owner ancestor heritage Jamaican-mixed nationality Kamala Harris (”I’ll take that in cash. Pay up, dude. Don’t you know who I am? That’s better.”
Then to Beyonce, Oprah Winfrey, Michelle Obama, Barack Obama, Michael Jordan,Shaquille O’Neal, and Rihanna (from Barbados) and top NFL and NBA players.
Then....sorry out of money.
Oh justine, honey is that you? Oh justine......
Always good to hear from someone else with excellent taste.
I was named after my great, great ,great grandfather whose father came over from Scotland. He was born in MI and enlisted at age 17 and fought with General Sherman. Don't let anyone from the South hear that. I didn't do it.
Remember Leonard Bernstein.
From the bernstein bears?
“Bring me my heroin and hypodermic needles bitch! Some mo watermelon too...”
Lucky for us comedy movies like that aren’t racist. That would be offensive in that case. All a big joke to satirize American affirmative action so it was okay. Whew. We can laugh now.
If they really cared about slavery, they would take action against modern slavery.
Can you imagine someone trying to make Blazing Saddles or Soul Man now?
That’s right. It’s looks like a slush fund for left wing causes in the making.
First, three hour film will be examined and censored by board of leftists for approval.
Then, will be cut to take out offensive portions.
Variety blurb: New Production will be Short Subject. 8 minute long film no longer offensive says Cory Booker. Still, only 2 theaters on first run list for the 50 states due to controversy. Theater chains shy away.
These idiot leftists will never know what hit them. The amount will not be enough and they will be told to give more and more and more and more and it will never be enough. Whoever the race Hustlers are who will be commenting on this I guarantee will say that this is an embarrassingly little amount and is not enough. And that will not be what these leftists expected to hear.
Seminary President Barnes should commit public seppuku to pay for the decades of Slavery his organization profited from. /Sarc.
Great minds think alike. That’s the first thing that popped into my head - a slush fund. Hopefully, someone’s going to follow the money to see where it gets off-loaded.
“Princeton seminary will pay $27M in slavery reparations”
Not enough. It is never enough.
Pay it all back. Every cent. Then your work will be done.
Yep.
I am not joining in.
Lucky for us white people we don’t irrationally back whatever other white people do, to merely try to be a ‘unified front’ and ‘have each others backs’.
When other white peoplemdo stupid things I call em on it.
