It is. Basically the longer your government is the more Senators you appoint - much like the US Supreme Court.
To: Drango
The contributors are instructive. Its going to be an interesting night.

” And just imagine a conservative leader for Canada!”
I worked for the Conservative Party in 2005 when Stephen Harper won. After he won in 06’, I moved to America. Good times..

From what I understand they have some of the same media issues that we have & conservatives (especially POTUS) are portrayed very negatively.

Yes, was it predicted for them?
To: goldstategop
Yes it looks like a minority government. Curious thing though, a new party has sprung up. The Peoples Party of Canada. (PPC). Maxime Bernier is the leader. Claims the status quo is immoral and corrupt. Not much chance of more than ten seats. I voted for his candidate today.
To: goldstategop
Likely it will be a minority government. However, more stinky stuff involving Liberal corruption will likely come to light once we are back to business as usual and that will continue to damage Justin personally as well as the Liberal brand.
People here should remember that even when Adscam came gift wrapped to Stephen Harper and the voters back in the early 2000s, enough moderate Liberal voters in the Toronto area still gave Paul Martin governments on a couple of occasions.

I find it unseemly that the media gets to report results before BC has even finished voting Happens down here every time.
Especially ask the folks in the conservative FL panhandle what they think about it.

Wait until the western provinces come in.

I saw some of the debate. After Trudeau got into trouble for dressing up as a Middle Easterner or a Black man, there was this swarthy, stocky guy up on stage with a colored turban and a bushy beard, creeping him out and making him uneasy.
Okay, so he is a Sikh and was the NDP leader and Trudeau didn't seem too uncomfortable, but it made me laugh. Also, the Bloc Quebecois guy was always acting up and getting aggressive, like he didn't realize that nobody in the audience was going to vote for his party.
