A group of Republican congressmen sent a letter to CNN President Jeff Zucker for refusing to air President Donald Trump’s campaign ads on the network.
The letter, spearheaded by South Carolina Rep. Jeff Duncan, was also signed by the following Republicans: North Carolina Rep. Mark Meadows, Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert, South Carolina Rep. Ralph Norman, Arizona Rep. Paul Gosar, Texas Rep. Randy Weber, Idaho Rep. Russ Fulcher, Alabama Rep. Bradley Byrne and Florida Republican Rep. Greg Steube.
They all believe CNN could be breaking the law by not airing Trump’s campaign ads
“As a press organization utilizing the freedom of the press guaranteed to you in the First Amendment, it is particularly disheartening to see you suppressing the free speech of federal political candidates, potentially in violation of federal law and Supreme Court precedent,” the letter reads. “As your news organization seems to have lost all sense of objectivity, spinning itself into oblivion to support left-leaning candidates and participating in distortions against conservative candidates, you have still operated within the boundaries of the First Amendment. CNN has the right to spout your political commentators’ opinions while millions of Americans change the channel to something else,” the letter continues.

The lawmakers said that CNN’s decision goes beyond First Amendment protections and that is in violation of the Constitution. The official message comes just days after Trump’s campaign lawyer threatened a lawsuit against the network in a letter Wednesday, accusing the network of violating multiple laws. “We urge you to correct this flagrant violation with all due haste and allow the paid Trump Campaign advertisements to return to your airwaves immediately,” the letter concluded. “We await your response.”
I like that idea. Kick Jim Acosta out right now.
FEC is a good place to start.
But—some smart folks need to get _more_ creative.
Trump and Congress should huddle with top litigation attorneys and find more ways to deal with this media co-conspirator of the coup plotters.
This has got to be a campaign finance violation
Isn’t there something about like contributions? If CNN is giving deference to liberals and repressing conservative opinion, it seems to me that there would be FEC violations that need to be reviewed by the DOJ.
“people who watch CNN none are going to vote for Trump, anyway.”
We don’t know that for sure. It could be that people sitting at an airport gate would see an ad and hear something they’ve never heard before (truth). It could prompt them to investigate and learn something that could change minds.
It’s like Christians — we don’t have to harass people to become Christians. We do have to plant the seed, and then let the Holy Spirit work after that. You never know.
Second, this "Country Club" Republican hasn't been solicited for money by the RNC since I responded to a request with "Tim McVeigh has done more to reduce the size of the Feral Gubbmint than all of you nutless wonders combined."
I have pointed out many times that under the Hague and Geneva Conventions Propaganda Operations are legitimate Military Targets.
That’s bogus. They won’t vote for Trump because they don’t know Trump. They don’t know him Bec they are never given a chance to hear from HIM. It’s always people who hate him telling you about what he said. I strongly suggest taking a look at the swing voters project videos. These voters are all getable if Trump can get to them through media or his rallys
My apologies to you if you are sincerely in the fight against censorship. In my defense tour post taken in isolation is defeatist and I have no changed my opinion regarding it.
Maybe China gave him more money.

CNN Airport has a confined audience
I believe this action by CNN tells us the Dem plot for the next election - a blackout on Trump. Once the election starts, I expect Twitter to ban Trump, and then all the liberal networks will make up some excuse to ban his ads.
Really? I thought the FCC... oh wait, because they’re cable only?
That’s what I’ve been told. They also do radio spots but I think they are riding someone else’s license for even that.
