Maya Rockeymoore Cummings, the widow of Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), on Thursday said in a statement that her late husband worked until his last breath.
Congressman Cummings was an honorable man who proudly served his district and the nation with dignity, integrity, compassion and humility. He worked until his last breath because he believed our democracy was the highest and best expression of our collective humanity and that our nations diversity was our promise, not our problem, she said.
Its been an honor to walk by his side on this incredible journey. I loved him deeply and will miss him dearly, Rockeymoore Cummings, who serves as the chairwoman of the Maryland Democratic Party, added.

All that stolen money is ALL hers now and she can finally enjoy it after the last RAT cries for old Elijah have died out.
Do all the signatures match?
Just curious.
Who cares.
Elijah Cummings will be remembered the same as John McCain is, a Traitor & Turncoat to his USA!!! all this swooning over him is a waste. Just look what this hateful, racist did not do, for African-Americans that live in Baltimore, Maryland. They remain living in Cummings CD, in squalor, poverty, rape of their women, no opportunities, infested with druggies, criminals and murderers of all sorts....that’s the legacy of Elijah Cummings...period!!! Case Closed!!!
The swamp just got a little emptier, unless his wife takes his place.
re: Bunch of invalid subpeonas
Those are demand letters, like a six yr old might write
what administration employee would comply with a Demand Letter from a dead man?
have you looked at Cummings district?
It contains a chunk of west Baltimore, a bunch of Howard County and a bunch of Baltimore County.
The part of Baltimore County is the northern/central portion not adjacent to the city but further out containing lots of farmland. The part of Howard County contains both close in suburbs and distant farmland areas too.
Maybe I take this position because I have a history of long replies which contain a fair share of typographical errors which I try to explain away as the product of my Dragon Naturally Speaking software. The software spells correctly but sometimes it chooses the wrong form of the word to spell, i.e. "bow" instead of "bough" or "bow" instead of "beau." Sometimes it gets the word wrong altogether, i.e., "parents" instead of "paradise" as it did yesterday. My problem is not in the spelling so much-a miracle which eluded years of English teachers and professors only to be cured by technology-but in the proofreading. I read what I think should be there instead of what actually is there. So I blame the lapses on Dragon Naturally Speaking but on whom can I blame the proofreading?
Is that because I am the author and therefore I am more prone to rehearse in my mind what I dictated rather than submit to the tedium of eye to brain work? Do I short-circuit the process? Do you observe yourself being relatively unable accurately to read your own work as opposed to the work of others?
I have tried proofreading the paragraphs from bottom-up instead of top-down and I think that helps little but it is no real solution. I have tried putting the writing aside for a time so that the brain has a chance to construct new circuits and that seems to avail, as the apostle said about physical exercise, a "little."
Do you have any suggestions for a poor pilgrim making his way through the travails of English exposition?
Maya Cummings, Rep Cummings wife, may be in a heap of trouble with the IRS. Millions of dollars.

The IRS has a reputation for not fooling around when folks break the law. This will be a good chance to see how they treat a Black person who is also a Democrat.
If shes lucky,....
Shes unlucky. Her protector died, so she will go to jail. Thats just how the two-tiered justice system works.
Then she put the pillow over his face. No more subpoena signing for you Elijah.
I think proofreading is a challenge for the writer. Mrs. Mad is heavily involved in the writing world and insists that the only good working option is to utilize a third party to review the material. That is not practical for FR.
I try to read my longer posts by skipping around in a random manner - skip to the third paragraph and then the second etc.... I tried reading them outloud but dog thinks I am crazy.
Still I miss items in posts that I have proofed more than once. lol...
Some FReepers tell me they generate posts in Word and let the speller/language feature assist them; then cut and paste to FR. I am going to try that approach.
FWIW I was interviewing for a technical editor’s position(to hire) years ago. I received a resume from a very qualified candidate where proofreading was misspelled. Poofreading.
re: “what administration employee would comply with a Demand Letter from a dead man?”
Word I had is that the signatures don’t match either from previous signatures of Cummings ...
Well neither would you if you had been beaten near to death at Selma. </s>
He signed subpoenas a few hours before he died the rat bastard. No accountability for any of his lies and actions good riddance
Well, he will never be cold ever again.
the first you state is always a lie, the second is extremely rare, the third is sweet schaudenfreude.
