“something someone overheard being wrong”
—
Wonder if the waitress knew him or anything about him prior to this? If not, I can understand she could be concerned just catching bits and pieces, but a quick check would show her worries unfounded.
Good that he was reinstated, but he should not have been fired in the first place, based on unchecked hearsay “evidence”.
Preview of future events with Red Flag laws in place.
article states that when he was approached by police, he was told that what he had said ‘was a felony’-
So evidently people can lie about what you say and you can be charged with felony speech?
He’s back on the job now? Good.
If I were him, though, I would either find a different coffee shop to hang out at, or only go when that busybody waitress is not on her shift.
I am semi-retired at 63, and already I have to plan reasons to get out and stay connected to people a few times a week.
That is the only reason I work part time. I don’t really need the money. I don’t wish for full time, though. Too much like being on a Hamster Wheel.
He may have been reinstated but did he get his confiscated firearms back?
Everyone's a whistleblower now.

The "waitress".
We ain't seen nothing yet... We've all read about the Chinese developing a system of "social credit".. Wouldn't the democrats love to get something like that going here..???
So, did the woman sign a statement or was this some more Star Chamber bullshit? Where is the proof?
The left is happy. They’ve trained the folks to rat on other folks for imagined thought crimes.
Did or didnt the resource officer leave the school to get coffee downtown while he was working. Also.... Is or is not the “waitress” related to, or sleeping with the resource officer?
Somebody tried to screw this man and somebody needs to find out why.
If this is how your local police act then just use it as a tactic against the left. You can always claim you overheard something (just be able to demonstrate you were nearby). Maybe you “misheard” but better safe than sorry right?
Only when these tactics work against the left in leftist jurisdictions will they bother to train police properly. Next time you see a known lefty, call the cops.
Not to worry, a woman’s testimony has half the value of a man’s...
...oh wait, we haven’t adopted sharia law.
yet...
Sheesh.
“confiscated for alleged threats to the Tisbury School overheard by a waitress at Linda Jeans restaurant in Oak Bluffs.”

Red Flag Laws working exactly as intended.
To disarm as many ordinary citizens as possible by any means necessary.
Nichols said he was unimpressed with the Tisbury School resource officers alleged trips to Xtra Mart to get coffee when children came to school in the morning. While dining at Linda Jeans a couple of weeks ago, Nichols said he told a friend about this and suggested somebody could shoot up the school in that officers absence, which he described as leaving his post.Getting coffee instead of guarding the school must be a vital right for the Tisbury police. Admittedly the chance of a school shooting on the island of Martha's Vinyard is slight, but criticizing a police officer for leaving his post to get coffee isn't evidence of anything other than a concerned crossing guard who values hard work and dedication.Nichols said the waitress made a complaint to Tisbury Police about what she overheard and on the strength of that, Saloio and another officer relieved Nichols of his crossing guard duties while he was in the midst of performing them and subsequently drove to his home and took away his firearms license and guns.
He came up and told me what I said was a felony but he wasnt going to charge me, Nichols said of Saloio.
I copied and pasted this story to my sister who lives on MV. Her reply: “Yep. It’s gone viral. Very juicy between the lines. Personal sh*t stains all over the waitress, the School Resource Officer whose wife is vice principle at the school, and the Tisbury Police Chief. Nothing more than a personal vendetta. And get this: WAITRESS DID NOT REPORT THE REMARK UNTIL TWO WEEKS AFTER SHE HEARD IT.”
