Why not?


If you’re not a EE or power engineer, you won’t understand the terms “high dielectric loss” and “high line-charging currents”.

AND these are seen before any useful power transfer through such lines occur.

Thanks for assuming I’m stupid. Maybe you could explain it to this idiot layman in a way I might understand. You know, something like “current loss in an underground setting would be several orders of magnitude greater than in a aerial situation thus making it a very inefficient means of moving high voltage across long distances.”

If you did something like that I would most likely say something like “thanks for the explanation. I understand now.”

But you didn’t.
