My cousin's daughter (so that makes her my first cousin once removed? Second cousin? I dunno, whatever) was a very good performer in musical theater. She was in big time productions on Broadway and in Chicago but she's tiny and with all her talent she could never get above being the understudy to the female lead. She finally decided it wasn't going to happen and she was going to learn to code. She went to some sort of boot camp for it. now she's doing very well for herself in California, coding away and rising quickly in her profession in part because of her outgoing personality and ability to present effectively (which for tech people is frankly the best way to get yourself in the fast track... everyone is smart, some brilliant but most can't speak in public worth a damn based on my observations over a 30 year engineering career. The ones that can rise quickly).
"Learn to code" is an insult when it's used as a means to cavalierly dismiss a class of people who's livelihoods you just said you were planning to ruin, as the dem politicians and the press did in West Virginia. But it's also good advice for those seeking a change of course.

My cousin's daughter (so that makes her my first cousin once removed? Second cousin? I dunno, whatever)Your cousin's daughter is your first-cousin-once-removed.
Your child (assuming you have one) and your cousin's daughter are therefore second-cousins. (Their children would be third-cousins to each other.)
English language lesson for today!
