Federal prosecutors have accused President Donald Trumps former national security advisor Michael Flynn of making frivolous document production requests that are not actually related to his defense at all but are instead an attempt to fuel outrage by spreading conspiracy theories about the Russiagate investigation. And one of those theories was allegedly suggested by Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA).
In a 41-page motion filed with the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia on Tuesday, U.S. Attorney Jesse K. Liu and her top lieutenants Brandon Van Granck and Jocelyn Ballantine argued that Flynns recent request for potentially exculpatory evidence known as Brady material is a sideshow with no genuine legal bearing on his casewhich is currently in a very slow-drip sentencing phase.
Oh I agree. Trump was elected into an almost impossible if not impossible situation.
I'll tell you what. If Barr and Durham come through, then the hold-back long game strategy will be a success.
If Barr and Durham turn out to be Deep State, then we have really big problems.
“If Barr and Durham turn out to be Deep State, then we have really big problems.”
I agree, but had he picked anyone else, Senate confirmation would have been brutal. Besides, I have no reason to doubt Barr. He really seems like a solid citizen.
So give it to his lawyers, if there is no there there. You spent more energy making your claims then it would to provide the documents. So there must be there there, or you would have provided them long ago.
The goons are after Michael Flynn...
“How do you identify thousands of people who are eventually found to be bad actors, and how do you find the right people to replace them with?”
I have believed all along that this was Trump’s biggest mistake. He had no idea how many deep state ers were out to get him.
First, I believe Admiral Rogers told Trump back in November 2016 that Trump was being spied on. Trump moved his transition team to N.J. the next day. So, Trump was aware the IC was out to get him. Hence the famous Sen. Shumer statement to Rachael Maddow on January 3rd, 2017, “ The IC has six ways from Sunday to get you.”
Perhaps it was a big mistake to kick Chris Cristie off the transition team, for personal reasons. Like him or hate him, Christie knew all the players, and might have had insight on who to trust.
When Guiliani turned down A.G., Trump should have twisted his arm, and got him to take the position on a temporary basis, just until everything settled down. Of course, Joe Digenova also would have made a good A.G.
Who recommended Chris Wray and Gina Haspel to Trump? They are just as deep state as the people they replaced. Clearly, Trump didn’t think that all the way through. I have a feeling the wishy washy Republicans convinced Trump that these two were the only people they could get through confirmation.
I have been thinking about what Trump could have done better for a long time. Unfortunately, he is fighting the entire establishment, and that is an uphill battle.
Also, Trump a big mistake in firing Flynn. I think it was Sally Yates who made him do that. Did Trump really think he could placate the deep state? Imagine if Flynn had stayed in his position. Flynn could have fleshed out a lot of corruption. Admiral Rogers also could have helped if he stayed on.
Well said.
Lying and withholding exculpatory evidence is SOP for Wormboy Weissman. He has done it before.
from the minute it was known Clinton/Dems created the dossier, the entire narrative should have shifted to an investigation of them, not Trump. period.
if that had happened, the Dems would not now control the House. just imagine.
Isn't that exactly what the FBI, DOJ, and Mueller did with the Russian collusion claims, and fake dossier, on behalf of Hillary, and now with the hearsay claims of a CIA officer?
Rule of Lawfare, not Rule of Law.
“We are no longer a nation of laws...”
Hell, that’s nothing. Wait until the people no longer accept the bogus authority of the criminal fascist syndicate occupying Washington. That’s when it gets interesting.
I was dismayed that he did not follow the precedent of William Clinton by firing 100% of Federal Attorneys on Day One. I knew what would happen - and it did.
Donald Trump is a negotiator. His mistake was in thinking he could do the Art of the Deal with people who have no honor; so, he included Swamp Experts like Reince Priebus, and we see what ensued.
There are many lawyers more patriotic and honorable outside the District of Corruption. Having politically-connected associates is useless, if those connections are only used to undermine him.
Trump’s prosecutors are doing that????????
So...Barr’s DOJ is allowing this kind of crap to continue? This needs to stop.

I believe Liu is the prosecutor tasked with potentially prosecuting McCabe. The fix is in. No way she wears both a white hat and a black hat. None.
Wow the press and dems are going full bore to discredit anyone and everyone that was victimized by the phony investigation.

Didn’t Christie recommend that snake Wray? What a mess.
LORD, protect Flynn, or this info will NEVER see the light of day.
