In its Guide to U.S. Public Opinion on Guns, published after the mass shooting in El Paso, Texas, Gallup includes a section on six different polls, which show that Southern, married men are the most likely to own a gun and non-Southern, unmarried women are the least likely to own a gun.
"Men are three times more likely than women to personally own guns," reported Gallup based on an analysis of polls taken between 2007 and 2012. "Gun ownership also varies significantly by region, with Southerners more likely to own guns than those living in other regions of the United States."
"Marriage is also a strong predictor of gun ownership," said the polling firm.

So the left is looking at the demographic to target with red flag laws. The left will also be trying hard with feminists on conservative discussion boards to get a female nominated for the Supreme Court—a woman who has written a court opinion that favors red flag laws enforced by local and state governments. She’ll probably have written something else in the same opinion that looks like it favors the Second Amendment—maybe something in favor of some kinds of felons.

I had Carroll ancestors at Huck’s Defeat, the Battle of Williamson’s Plantation, an early militia action in the Southern Campaign.
Tarleton had a Loyalist militia captain named Christian Huck who was cut from the same cloth as Tarleton. Cruel and brutal to civilians. He managed to turn the previously quiet Scots Irish populace into a dangerous and revenge seeking enemy.
In July 1780 Huck rode through York County, South Carolina with 100 or so Loyalist troops, terrorizing anyone he thought opposed British rule. His brutality inspired 250 Patriot militia to organize and go hunting for him.
The Patriots caught Huck’s troops asleep at sunrise and slaughtered most of them, including Huck. The message for both sides was that the backcountry didn’t fear British regulars and they would take the fight to them. This was the first of a series of Patriot victories that led to King’s Mountain and Cowpens.
