Forbes magazine has attributed a whole new list of negative effects to climate change, including lost productivity, violent crime, and cognitive decline.
Climate change has become the bogeyman responsible for all the worlds ills, from racism to mass migration, but in its new article, Forbes has arguably taken climate hysteria to a whole new level.
Citing economist Marshall Burke, Forbes writer Jeff McMahon says that climate change has already cost the U.S. economy $1 trillion, but this is only the tip of the iceberg, since that cost will rise to $5 trillion by 2050.
Mr. McMahon goes on to list eight unexpected effects of climate change, the first of which is lost productivity since economic output falls in hot years as compared to cooler years.
Closely related to lost productivity is cognitive decline, which means that people perform office tasks less effectively, and kids learn less and score worse on standardized tests when it is hot out.
Hot temperatures literally make us dumber, McMahon says, again citing Mr. Burke.
Third on the list of surprising side effects of climate change is violent crime, due to the fact that crime spikes during heat waves.
Statistics show that violent assault, sexual violence, and homicide all increase on days or months where temperatures are above normal, McMahon asserts.
Not only violent crime toward others, but also suicide can be blamed on climate change, McMahon continues, going so far as to prophecy that future warming could lead to tens of thousands of additional suicides in the US by mid-century.

No....”cognitive decline” is the cause of global warming acceptance
Forbes, prime example of O’Sullivan’s Law
Forbes?!
I thought Forbes was a reasonable magazine.
It seems like they have gone off the deep end.
CLIMAGEDDON can do everything!
I think climate change HAS harmed people. The continual drumbeat that we’re all going to die in a decade has to cause young people (who are, sadly, going along with this)to give up, not bother striving for anything, become depressed, and even commit suicide. Why follow the law? Why bother trying to improve your life? Why have children? Why bother with anything. Eat, drink, get whatever you can, take whatever you want....what difference, at this point, does it make?
Well, climate change is an obvious hoax, but cognitive decline and suicide are an obvious reality: Half the American population and more than half the European has descended into mass stupidity and madness and are intent on committing mass suicide.
I agree. I can’t remember where I put my car keys because of Climate Change.
Clearly, Climate Change is responsible for ‘irrational socialism’, ‘racial hypocrisy’, ‘sexual dysphoria’ and ‘islamophilia’.
There is just as strong a correlation between “global warming” and suicide, as the extinction of the Thylacine and “global warming”...
Being bombarded with non scientific articles 24/7 is causing a measurable cognitive decline and is making me want to silence it by any means necessary
Climate panic!!
“I thought Forbes was a reasonable magazine”.
It was but the new editorial crew is like the WSJ, taking a left turn. Canceled Forbes and am about to do the same with WSJ. I Read a couple of their columnists and the editorial page, but that’s about it. Not worth the cost either.
so is he calling everyone in warmer climates ignorant?
If we Licensed and Regulated Presstitutes and COmmercial Speech for Compensation or Gain, propaganda like this would not be possible.
Climate Change turned me into a Newt! (But I got better).
No no no. They got it bass ackward.
Cognitive Decline is the reason for the belief in Gorebull Worming.
climate change is a post-modern, faith-based, cult religion.
Hard to believe Steve Forbes OKed this tripe in his magazine.
