I despised them then, and now that they & their children have ascended into the upper reaches of the Deep State. They should be clubbed early and often.
I hesitate to admit this, but I believe that the Iraq War was idiotic and wasteful. I honor the young veterans of that war because they fought with courage and tremendous sacrifice - but it was the wrong war and poorly thought out at the higher levels.
I used to visit the wounded at Walter Reed and Bethesda and bring them gifts - and it was hard to see the grievous wounds caused by the IEDs.
