During a Friday interview on CNN's Newsroom, radio host Charlamagne tha God said black people are the "next" ones President Donald Trump will put in cages, as anchor Brooke Baldwin nodded.
Baldwin asked the host of The Breakfast Club if strong job numbers for black people under the Trump administration would sway his support toward the president.
"The jobs numbers came out today and they were positive," Baldwin said. "Whether or not you're a fan of Donald Trump's, you know, when you look at what happened, black unemployment fell to a record low in August, helped by a jump in the number of black women on the job. Can you argue with those numbers?"
Charlamagne responded that he can't afford to be a "one-issue voter" as a black man.
"I feel like the soul of the country is at stake in 2020," he said. "And you know, I don't want to be under a fascist regime. Because the truth of the matter is that when you end up with the regime of a fascist, the person that's going to be affected the mostit's going to be black and brown people, because we always get the short end of the stick in America. I don't want to be under a regime like that."
"When you look at someone like Trump, it's like okay, who's next to be in those cages? It's not going to be people that look like you," he continued, pointing at Baldwin. "It's probably going to be people that look like me. So, jobs aren't enough."
Baldwin nodded and said, "I hear you," before moving onto another question.
Later in the interview, Charlamagne criticized former Vice President Joe Biden for helping author the 1994 Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act. He added that he believes Biden polls well among black people "because he was the vice president to the first black president. I think it's more bro-ism than anything."
She? That’s a man, baby. Charlamagne must be his gay stripper name.
Yes, Lenard, if you break the law, you will end up in a cage.
You mean right after giving them the greatest unemployment in US history and fulfilling his promise of bringing the inner cities to unprecedented prosperity?
Yes! Isn't that "cultural appropriation"?
He did call Fauxcahontas “the Indian Rachel Dolezal” to her face.
I’m positive Trump will talk to him at some point, at which point, Democrats are toast, especially if they nominate white bread like Sanders or Warren.
This is like Sunday funnies in the newspaper. Charlemagne tha God crapper is a better title for him. It’s makes it a more funny comic strip.
its grandma let it eat too many lead paint chips.
The Democrats will never hand over the keys.
like Roosevelt putting all our Japanese citizens in concentration camps????? ........................ Like the Italians and Germans too. Someone in the FDR Admin wanted all the US Germans here in camps. If that was the case, who would be left to fight in Europe, the Pacific and the CBI ??? That’s why it wasn’t implemented.
I served with Charlemagne,
I knew Charlemagne,
Charlemagne was a friend of mine,
and kid, you are no Charlemagne.
Spoken like a REAL fascist.
His brain’s already in a cage.
What. An. Idiot.
Later in the interview, Charlamagne criticized former Vice President Joe Biden for helping author the 1994 Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act. He added that he believes Biden polls well among black people "because he was the vice president to the first black president. I think it's more bro-ism than anything."
And, criticizing Biden was his real agenda item, because Trump-bashing has been leading to a long downward spiral in the ratings. And keeping those big checks coming for running his mouth is all he's about. Thank Marv.
Is there gas in the car?
Preposterous on its face. Trumps plan is to put them all back in chains, not cages. Sheesh, what an idiot!
“Charlamagne tha God”
Charlemagne wasn’t, isn’t, and never will be a God.
Nor is he very bright.
TIME TO BRING THIS UP
During the period after the civil war known as reconstruction black legislators who were Republican were elected in the south. To stop this democrats came up with segregation poll taxes and Jim Crow laws and the KKK
