I stockpiled 100 watt bulbs, so the new rules won’t change my buying habits, since I won’t need any for at least five years. I really do read better and concentrate better with them. I think it’s both the brightness and the warmth that are factors.
I stocked up also.
I use a 100W bulb to heat my pump house in very low temps.
Down to my last two, so that’s a worry gone.
Same with the 75W that I like best in living room lamps, not many of them left.
Still have plenty of 40 and 60.
Let me guess. You live somewhere in the northern US where for 9 months of the year waste heat from incandescent lightbulbs is a benefit. There is no way that a pinhead bureaucrat would accommodate that because to them lightbulbs create light and furnaces create heat.

Incandescent light is the most similar to the light of fire. The red portion of incandescents is highest than others. The red component has many health benefits including eye health, reduction of ultraviolet skin damage, and better sleep. The blue component is stressful and harmful to the eye.
