More than one hundred asset managers, trading platforms and investment firms in London have so far obtained licences to run new hubs in the European Union after Brexit, a top EU regulator said on Thursday.
Licences are granted by national regulators but the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) ensures they dont offer sweeteners to UK-based firms that want a base to serve EU clients after Britain leaves the bloc, currently scheduled for Oct. 31.
We have seen significant movement of activity from the UK to the EU27. The number of authorisations is above 100, ESMA Chair Steven Maijoor told Reuters during a visit to London.

So are they going to live in England or in the EU?
For the past year I have had a ton of customers streaming to set up branches and then shifting most of the capital and jobs to different countries.
The key people have also gotten dual citizenships or resident cards and will move. A vast number of them are moving close by, to Dublin or cork or Amsterdam
If they are that weak then Britain is better off without them. I can remember when Brits were some of the finest, toughest people on the planet. Its good that these people are identifying themselves. There should be no such thing as duel citizenship.
When the US required people or give up their citizenship in other countries before they became a citizen of the auS we had people who were actually proud to be American , not just better off financially.
When was it when you remember them to be the toughest people on the planet? World war two?
Spanish Armada ;)
Nobody expects the Spanish Armada!
Yes, bombs falling everywhere and they went to work. They were all stiff upper lip and carry on.
I dont know what happened to them.
They passed away. That was 80 years ago. The world has changed
I know. Sad
I lived in the UK from 2000 to 2005. The first time I set foot there I was a convinced Anglophile and a massive Biggles, William (Richmal Crompton), PG Wodehouse and Enid Blyton fan and believed the country would be Agatha Christie-like.
i was disappointed.
There are classy places and classy people, but as an average they junked their culture and took on inner-city American culture.
There are exceptions yes, but they are shrinking.
The talk about Muslims overrunning the place is not quite true but what did happen is that the 60s was a time that the UK (and the US to an extent) started hating its own culture and junking it. Thanks to the Baby boomer 60s generation, British society and religion was destroyed.
But nature abhors a vacuum — Muslims came with their religion and would have been absorbed IF there was a strong culture. But there wasn’t.
it’s been gone for 50 years.
