Everyone is missing the point.

The date set for the U.K. to leave the EU is not set or able to be changed by anything the current Parliament does. If they create a “deal” that is acceptable to the EU or not the deadline is October 31, 2019. The EU has said, many times, that another extension will not be forthcoming.

That’s the thing. Boris doesn’t have to get anything passed by Parliament. They already triggered article 50. They want to keep him in office but not in power. They do not want a general election because Boris and Nigel Farage would slaughter them. So they pass this bill to try to tie Boris’ hands.

But he doesn’t have to present the bill to the Queen. If it doesn’t get royal assent it doesn’t become law. To any howls of protest, Boris can just say “fine.....hold a vote of no confidence if you don’t approve”. That will of course result in the general election they do not want. Or, they can just accept it in which case the clock runs out on the extension and the U.K. is out of the EU with no deal.

It’s not Boris who’s trapped - despite what the Establishment media is trying to claim - it’s the ReMoaners who are trapped. It is they who must get something passed and can’t.

I thought Macron said he would agree to an extension.
