U.S. exports of liquefied natural gas (LNG), negligible just three years ago, now amount to 10% of the global market and at 22 million tonnes so far this year are equal to the total volumes pumped out in 2018, Refinitiv data showed.
The data, comprised of tracked individual journeys made by LNG tankers from supply source to destination, also showed LNG production hit an all-time high last month of 31 million tonnes.
As global volumes grow, Qatar, for years the worlds largest LNG supplier, lost market share to Australia, which exported more LNG than any other country in the past two months.
The supply surge has been long in the making as liquefaction and export facilities on the U.S. Gulf Coast come onstream after years of development, boosted also by a new mega-terminal in Russias Arctic and facilities in Australia.
The batting order for the worlds largest exporters has been Australia, Qatar, the United States, Russia and Malaysia for the past two months, whereas in previous years Nigeria and Indonesia vied for places in the top five.
Soaring supplies from U.S. LNG terminals have upended the global market not just by boosting volumes and depressing prices but also through flexible destination contracts with long-term buyers. Such deals allow countries cargoes to ebb and flow as prices and demand dictate.

Another big fracking win.
Greta will not be pleased. :-)
Who’s Greta?
Australians pay very high prices for LNG.
The Australians I talked to claimed they sold the LNG cheap overseas, and paid very high prices at home.
LOL! The teenage hypocrite from sweden who sailed over to address the u.n. the other day in a non polluting vessel made of composite carbon fiber. The return crew flew over to sail it back and I believe she flew back. But no worries. They bought carbon credit offsets. Maybe skype was down or something? Lyin’ fidiots.

More winning for America, thanks to the ‘evil’ Trump using MAGA!
Now, finally, we’re back to producing wealth.
Maybe they could send some to New York State..
They are sending it to Boston..because New York State will not allow a pipeline to MA
Excellent. Drill baby Drill!
This creates wealth, creates jobs, enhances national security by bringing us closer to energy independence and as an added bonus, it undercuts people who hate us - ie Arab Muslims.
Beautiful.
“They are sending it to Boston..because New York State will not allow a pipeline to MA”
Very interesting. As I post this I’m sitting on the Mystic river watching various foreign ships come in and deliver (I think) LNG.
If there were a pipeline from PA to MA then Boston would be an ideal port to, instead of importing foreign gas from Yemen and other enemies, export gas abroad.
> They are sending it to Boston..
I thought the rub on that was lack of US flagged LNG ships. Cargos from and to US ports must be on US flagged ships.

Every morning I walked my dog in the park next to there. Used to wonder how far I’d have to be away if one of those blew.
Infrastructure is being put in place for the capture of the NG that are in this area and now, just maybe now we will start seeing production of these trillion of cubic feet of gas that are in the ground
Think in terms of kiloton yield.
Meanwhile in Berkeley California...the city just passed an ordinance forbidding natural gas hookups in all new construction.
