The Trump administration is considering a proposal that would use Google, Amazon and Apple to collect data on users who exhibit characteristics of mental illness that could lead to violent behavior, The Washington Post reported Thursday.
The proposal is part of an initiative to create a Health Advanced Research Projects Agency (HARPA), which would be located inside the Health and Human Services Department, the report notes, citing sources inside the administration. The new agency would have a separate budget and the president would be responsible for appointing its director.
HARPA would take after Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, or DARPA, which serves as the research arm for the Pentagon. The idea was first crafted in 2017 but has since gotten a renewed push after mass shootings killed 31 people in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, in August.
The Suzanne Wright Foundation approached the president recently and proposed the agency include a project called Stopping Aberrant Fatal Events by Helping Overcome Mental Extremes, or Safe Home, the report notes, citing two people familiar with the matter.
President Donald Trump has a close relationship with Bob Wright, who founded the foundation after his wife died of cancer. Wright was a former chair of NBC and occupied that position while the president hosted “The Apprentice.”
HARPA would develop “breakthrough technologies with high specificity and sensitivity for early diagnosis of neuropsychiatric violence,” according to a copy of the proposal. “A multi-modality solution, along with real-time data analytics, is needed to achieve such an accurate diagnosis.”

The Washington Post (Washington DC's liar of record) spews about an idea they've heard floated by someone in the HHS Department, a department where Trump has no friends, and hopes suckers believe that Trump is considering the idea so some of his supporters get pissed off and refuse to vote for him again.
I'd bet that at most, Trump met with someone from HHS and ignored the idea moving on to other things rather than instantly calling the HHS dolt a stupid jackass.
When Trump personally says something and video of him saying it is available, I believe he's considering it. Otherwise I consider everything from the "Russian Collusion" media rabble as just the usual subtle democrat party trick of getting their opponent's supporters ticked off at their opponent so a significant number of those who supported their opponent in the past stay home on election day.
The Washington Post worked in lock step with the rest of the democrat scum to portray of Trump as an uncompromising Hitler but now that we're approaching the election season they've switched to portraying him as a compromising milquetoast personality when it comes to defending things his supporters expect him to support.

WaPo says “Supporters see the plan as a way President Trump . . . “. Daily Caller turns “plan for Trump” into “Trump considering” making it look like Trump is going to the Dark Side.
A number of Freepers commenting above fell for this slight-of-hand.
The President has changed his mind so often on so many issues, so who knows? I hope he stands firm behind the Second Amendment, but I’m not sure. I agree with the other poster who said this was probably a Jarvanka initiative.
This story is setting off my BS detector. There’s surely no love lost between DJT and Big Tech.
