As Dorian makes landfall on the Bahamas with winds of 185-mph, it is now the strongest hurricane to hit the Bahamas region in modern records. Only one storm in the Atlantic have ever exceeded a wind speed of 185-mph. President Trump warns it could be among the 'strongest' to hit in decades.
"Dorian has become the strongest hurricane in modern records for the northwestern Bahamas," the National Hurricane Center said on Sunday morning.
As of Sunday afternoon, Dorian was located over Great Abaco island in the Bahamas. The powerful Category 5 hurricane was packing winds of 185-mph with higher gusts over 220-mph as it made landfall.

They will not care until one hits them.
Just say to the leftists that hurricanes is to the southeast as blizzards is to the northeast. Comes with the summer/winter seasons.
Or Andrew.
Why no reporters in the Bahamas? They were all in Puerto Rico to blame Trump.
In New England it would be called a blizzard.
Yeah, and in their heads they’ll be thinking, “...all caused by global warming...”
Or the global warming fantasy.
Agreed...
That 1 mph motion is truly scary.
I’ve been through a F4 tornado (direct hit / it wrecked our brick house), and a hurricane with 165 mph sustained winds, coming over me @ 1 mph, is almost incomprehensible...
There were reporters in the Bahamas.
We just havent heard from them. We will have to see why that I see the case.
I read the Bahamas PM, as reported a couple hours ago, saying there were at least 5 dead in Abaco Islands. Which seems like an incredibly low death rate for a Cat 5 direct hit on 17k low lying islanders. Either the Bahamians are tougher than I’d credited them, the storm is overrated, or conditions are so bad that most of the deaths remain undiscovered or unreportable.
Not like the constant updates from Puerto Rico to blame Trump. They can't blame Trump in the Bahamas so no such focus.
