I was kinda thinking along the same line after the IG report on Comey was released. No, not the "building block" type of case, but...

Along the line of, we can't let this case against him get in the way of the much bigger charges that will come from the IG report on the deep-state conspiracy to commit sedition against a duly-elected president.

IOW, the Comey memos case CANNOT be allowed to become a distraction when much bigger cases can be made from the whole phony Trump/Russia collusion case, in which Comey was one of the biggest players. Methinks that Comey is not out of the woods yet.
