Former Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein threw shade at Comey in a series of tweets following the release of the DOJ IG report.
The DOJ Inspector General released a report on James Comey Thursday morning on his mishandling of memos he drafted stemming from nine conversations he had with President Trump.
Although it was determined that Comey violated FBI policies pertaining to retention, handling and dissemination of FBI records and information, Barr declined prosecution.
The IG report concluded that Comey set a dangerous example for the over 35,000 current FBI employees.
Without mentioning Comeys name, Rosenstein criticized the former FBI Director on Twitter.
It is important .. to follow established policies and procedures, especially when the stakes are high
. We should be most on guard when we believe that our own uncomfortable .. circumstances justify ignoring .. principles respected by our predecessors. Rosenstein said.

Yeh, he’s not out of the woods just yet.
The DOJ is corrupt from top to bottom. Nothing but hate America traitors.
That was my initial thought. I bet he turns on Comey.
Name calling. That’s about it.
What would George Washington do? He would publicly hang him for Treason! I was Tactical Intel officer of which COMSEC was my specialty. Never heard of such disregard of our nation’s security, since Robert Hanssen and the Walker’s treason. Hillary Clinton should be in Leavenworth till she’s dead. Comey passing downgraded classified info to his buddies would get him 5yrs for each offense, plus he and others conspired in overthrowing the U.S. President! There’s only 1 way to clean up our Constitutional Republic and people are afraid to say it.
Violated the rules..set a dangerous example...blah blah blah blah blah. So what?
It’s all a farce. Rosenweasel can feign outrage, and then he and Comedy go have a martini and laugh up their sleeves. I pray they do NOT get to have LAST laugh, though.
First Pro American comments I’ve heard from Rosentraitor
I’m sure there is a giant room full of paid helper’s typing the propaganda as fast as they can. Generated responses soon to be replaced by AI.
This IG report throughly vindicates Rosenstein, and puts to rest any stupid claims that Trump fired him for illegal reasons.
James Comey really is just an @sshole after all.
Not reading..., big problem! Reading and trusting your staff that prepared the document rather than spending a day or so on your own researching..., understandable. ANYONE who has directed a thousand+ LEO employees and signed 50 or so memos and documents a day has just had to pray that his trust in his staff was well placed! I'll give Rod the benefit of the doubt until further evidence is forthcoming.
Easy to be a Monday Quarterback when you haven't been in the game...
All childish corruption theater. No prosecutions means they are above the law. Trump has failed to restore the rule of law.
His appointment of SC did not follow DOJ refgulations at 28 CFR 600. He appointed an SC to follow up counterintelligence. This is nuts.
Pot calling the kettle black.
Winning!
You retained James Comey for 4 months - even though Obama appointed Comey FBI Director.
You have retained DOJ Inspector General Horowitz for 31 months - even though Obama appointed him.
You approved U.S. Attorney Huber to “assist” Horowitz - even though Obama appointed Huber.
You appointed Rod Rosenstein Deputy Attorney General - even though Rosenstein was Obama’s go-to U.S. Attorney for eight years.
You appointed William Barr Attorney General - even though Vice President Joe Biden supported Barr for Attorney General in 1991.
Winning!
Rotten Rod’s sudden appearance in the twitter sewer is one of the most bizarre episodes of Spygate. I take anything he says with a grain of salt.
No much for law and order in the good old U.S.A.... At this point in time it has become obvious, it's every man for himself... :(
Oooh. Comey got a bad report card and daddy is annoyed about it. I’ll bet that will keep them both awake for seconds tonight.
CYA by Rosenstein, but maybe it leads somewhere.
I wasn’t a CEO, but as a Sergeant I supervised a group of Correction Officers. When an incident occurred in the facility, and it was in my area of supervision, it was my responsibility to do all the investigations, gather any evidence, get all inmates involved evaluated by medical staff, make sure the officers involved saw medical staff, and had to make sure all the reports from those same officers, all medical reports, etc., were turned in as soon as possible. It all had to be submitted to the Watch Commander before I could go home. Because all of the officers’ reports, my interviews, my investigation report, etc., had to jive (because at any time, those documents could be called into a court of law), I had to sit down, and read, each and every one, to make sure nothing was missing, nothing was added that shouldn’t be there, etc. Sometimes it meant having to have one of the officers or two, rewrite their statements. I worked for NY State. Rosenstein worked for the Federal Government, and you’re willing to give him a pass when part of his paycheck is making sure that every FISA warrant he signs is accurate, and justified? What about the rest of the morons who signed them as well? Maybe they didn’t read them either before they signed them...so let’s give them a pass too.
Barr said during his confirmation he only took the job to protect the institution.
The institution was involved in not only the attempted coup against Trump, but paying off Mullahs, running guns to Mexican cartels, and many other criminal conspiracies.
All at the direction of an ineligible usurper that they all knew was ineligible.
